The actress loves driving cars but she admits the Impala was a tough one, despite previously having handled a jeep in Ishaqzaade. In addition to mastering the Impala, the film required numerous other exciting challenges for Parineeti, not least of all learning fluent Urdu. IN LUCKNOW Parineeti Chopra is well versed and familiar with Lucknow thanks to upcoming release, Daawat-e-Ishq. The actress had a lengthy shooting schedule of 90 days in the region, later returning to shoot the songs for the film. She had previously shot in the city for Ishaqzaade and is now extremely comfortable in the region, having travelled it extensively. The actress knows all the best places to hang out at and has been advising people on where they can eat authentic Lucknowi food and experience the best eateries. She has also been giving her friends tips on where to shop. Her pals say that if anyone wants to know anything about Lucknow, they should simply call Parineeti, who is now truly at home in the city. CELEBRATION Gastronomic love stories are a rarity in Bollywood and Daawat-e-Ishq is one of those rare films on the subject, with the film’s lead actress, Parineeti Chopra, describing it as a full on celebration of food and love. Praising the plot, she says, “Though food plays an important part in Daawat-e-Ishq, it is at the end of the day a love story. Daawat-e-Ishq is a celebration of love and food, love for food, love over food.” Explaining why we don’t tend to see many Indian films on the subject of food she adds, “It all happens in good time. We can’t have films about food just for the heck of it. There has to be a proper story to tell because it stretches to a two-and-a-half-hour of playing time. Though food plays an important part in Daawat-e-Ishq, it is at the end of the day a love story.” Asked if she and her fellow cast members ate a lot on set, she tells, “Oh, we were constantly eating. Every other day there was a sequence showing us eating and the scene would go on the entire day, so you can imagine. We ended up eating all the time.” Daawat-e-Ishq being the actress’s second film with director Habib Faisal, of the comfort level on set she explains, “I think we have begun to understand one another to the point where we understand one another implicitly.
