Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that a recent bad experience has made her realize that sexismstill remains as a prevalent problem across thefashion industry. In her article in the Marie Claire magazine, the ‘ Sex and the City’ star did not mention the name of a any particular company but it is being speculated that she was referring to design house ‘Halston’, where she had been hired as the Chief Creative Officer of the lower-priced Halston Heritage label in January, 2010, Contactmusic reported.

She quietly parted ways with the firm in July 2011 but has now come up with allegations that more powerful male executives, who were only interested in using her fame to build the brand stronger, brushed her aside. Parker told the magazine that she was brought in to help run a fashion company for about a year but was shocked to see that the old-fashioned attitude about women and business still existed in the industry. She said that women had titles but were treated as figureheads.

The actress further admitted that she struggled in silence, apart from seeking some advice from her representatives, as she wanted to handle the responsibility given to her with authority. However, Parker insisted that the experience has taught her a lesson for any future endeavors.
